Principal's Corner

It is an honor to serve as the principal of Sunnyslope, a place where every student is valued, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential. My journey in education began in 2006 right here in South Kitsap, where I taught 1st through 6th grade and later served as an elementary instructional specialist. These experiences deepened my passion for helping teachers strengthen their instruction, set clear goals, and create learning environments where all students thrive.

At Sunnyslope, we believe in meeting students where they are and helping them grow toward academic excellence—no matter their starting point. We celebrate hard work, perseverance, and great character because we know that success isn’t just about what students learn, but also about who they become. As a passionate advocate for the Science of Reading, I am committed to ensuring every child develops the strong literacy foundation they need to succeed.

Our work is guided by The SK Way—loving people, knowing our purpose, getting better every day, thinking big, and having an attitude of gratitude. These values shape our school community and create a culture where every student feels seen, valued, and truly special.
