Safe – Creating a safe and supportive environment means making sure everyone feels welcome and valued. Emotional safety comes from respecting others’ ideas and treating classmates with understanding. Physical safety means following rules, walking in hallways, and being mindful of others.
Team Player – A true team player cooperates, supports others, and values different perspectives. They collaborate with any partner, adapt with flexibility, and contribute positively to group efforts.
Always Kind – Kind students show compassion through words and actions, helping others feel included and valued. Small gestures, like offering help or including a classmate, can brighten someone’s day and make our school community stronger.
Responsible – Responsibility means taking ownership of actions, completing work on time, caring for materials, and keeping shared spaces clean. Responsible students stay focused, follow through on commitments, and help when needed.
Striving for Our Personal Best – Doing your personal best means putting in effort, embracing challenges, and taking pride in growth. Whether tackling a tough task or working toward a goal, persistence and a positive mindset lead to progress.
Monthly Recognition
We believe in celebrating students who embody our STARS Guidelines for Success—Safe, Team Player, Always Kind, Responsible, and Striving for Our Personal Best. Each month, teachers select students from their class who consistently demonstrate these values. These students are honored with a certificate, have their photos displayed in the hallways and on social media, and enjoy a Superstar Lunch with the principal. Through this recognition, we highlight the incredible ways our students contribute to a positive, supportive school community.
Weekly Celebration
We celebrate students who demonstrate our STARS Guidelines for Success in big and small ways. One way we recognize everyday acts of kindness, responsibility, teamwork, and perseverance is through our weekly Blue Slip drawings. Throughout the week, staff hand out Blue Slips to students who exemplify these values. Then, on Fridays, the principal celebrates Blue Slip recipients in the cafeteria during lunchtime. Each student whose slip is drawn gets to visit the prize cart, which offers small trinkets and special leadership opportunities for older students—such as helping with daily announcements or assisting in a kindergarten classroom. These weekly celebrations reinforce positive choices and encourage students to be their best every day!
